Today's Advice - Re: Continuum

After reading a series of economic development articles, culminating in Jeffrey D Sachs' Keynote Address at the CERC Symposium, a most evident conclusion comes to light...

We are a people that discover and explore, but then, in general, settle into routine. We plan for the future by only slightly adjusting our current routine. In other words we prepare ourselves using a continuum theory of progress.

Don't. That is my advice for today. Change will happen, be prepared to make adjustments. If farmers in the Midwest have been producing corn for hundreds of years, and the climate is no longer suited for it, move away from it sooner than later.

Success comes from changing tradition prior to it's inevitable collapse.
